Pre Wedding Shoot At Upwaltham Barns

The other day I met up with Nicci & Dan at Upwaltham Barns for their pre wedding photo shoot prior to their wedding next month. They will be having a blessing at St Mary The Virgin Church on their special day, so we headed up there for a few shots first. We then took a few photo’s around the barns and up the hill on the other side too. I can’t wait for the wedding, it will be a great day. Here are few shots from the session…

Alex & Jo – Pre Wedding Shoot – Buxted Park

On Saturday I met up with Alex and Jo for their pre wedding photo session at Buxted Park. Yet again heavy rain, in fact some hail stones thrown in too! but after a quick catch up in the bar, it all cleared away in time for the shoot. Here is a short video from the session…

Charlotte & Harry – St Mary’s Church West Chiltington – Bailiffscourt Hotel

On Friday I photographed the wedding of Charlotte and Harry at St Mary’s Church, West Chiltington followed by their wedding breakfast at the Bailiffscourt Hotel, Clymping. Coverage began at the church for this wedding so I arrived nice and early for some lovely shots of the church before Harry and the guests arrived. It was another day of shower dodging and perfect (if not extremely lucky) timing all round. After a couple of pre wedding shots with Harry, Charlotte arrived with her Dad in a beautiful Rolls Royce from Bow Field Hire. After the ceremony we took a quick group photo outside the church before heading to Bailiffscourt. During the journey down to Clymping, there was a heavy shower and I was getting concerned about the rest of the day. However the sun was shining on Bailiffscourt so all was perfect! As Charlotte is expecting a baby soon, they decided against an evening reception, so once they had sat down for their meal my job was done… which was a nice treat!

Chris & Jenine – Elmers Court Wedding – Lymington – Hampshire

Last week I had the pleasure of photographing the intimate wedding of Chris & Jenine at Elmers Court, Lymington. Although it was a small gathering of family and close friends, I still somehow managed to produce over 500 processed images without being ‘in their face’ all day. They were extremely lucky with the weather, looking at the glorious sunshine and clear blue skies you could never imagine that it poured with rain during the wedding breakfast, then completely cleared again by the speeches. I had a great day at this Elmers Court wedding and thank you to Chris & Jenine for choosing me to be their photographer, they are a lovely little family and I wish them all the very best for the future. Laura & Mike’s Wedding At Brighton College

On Saturday I photographed the awesome sun drenched wedding of Laura & Mike at Brighton College. Being rock fans they naturally had a rock themed wedding. All the guys had brightly coloured Converse shoes with matching ties, the girls had them too (the shoes, not the ties!), but changed into them later. I began shooting in the morning with the girls getting ready in a stunning house they rented especially for the occasion. I got five minutes with the bride ‘in the dress’ before I had to leave for the College, so made great use a large mirror and chaise longue for a couple of quick photos. Laura requested a couple of ‘spot colour’ shots in the mix, some love it and some hate it (a bit like marmite LOL) I am always more than happy to do them. The day wen’t smoothly and was lots of fun. A handful of requested family groups, some ‘fly on the wall’ candid shots and some portraits before the wedding breakfast. Later in the evening we were joined by Leo from Coco Photobooths for some slightly different photos! The reception was dark and colourful and there was plenty of dancing going on into the night. Laura & Mike – Pre Wedding Shoot – Brighton Pier

Yesterday I met up with the fabulous Laura & Mike at Brighton Pier for their pre wedding shoot. I will be photographing their wedding on Saturday! Ideally the pre wedding sessions are done a couple of months before the wedding, which was the original plan however due to Mike not being well at the time we had to leave it to the last minute. The weather was amazing and the photo opportunities on Brighton seafront are literally endless, especially when you have a great couple who are up for a good laugh too, I had to drag myself away!

I am now shooting with a brand new set of prime (fixed focal length) lenses and this was the first official ‘day out’ with them. I have been testing them at home but there’s nothing like taking them out on a job and using them for real. They are lighter, faster and sharper than my Canon ‘L’ series zooms, so a great result all round.

Aimee & Steve – Cooling Castle Barn Wedding

I had an awesome day at Cooling Castle Barn for the wedding of Aimee and Steve. Wow what a venue, a castle backdrop and a barn location all in one! We were a little short of time, but still managed to get everything done. Aimee didn’t want any coverage of her getting ready, so I began shooting at the Barns to capture the arrivals. After the ceremony I took the two of them outside to the Castle entrance for a couple of very quick portraits before returning them to their guests. A handful of groups later and it was time for the speeches followed by the wedding breakfast. As well as the civil ceremony, they also had a blessing after their meal. Followed by the first dance and then the band to finish. Despite the busy schedule, the day ran really smoothly with thanks to the wonderful staff at Cooling Castle Barn. I also managed to get plenty of candid, photojournalistic shots throughout the day too. Here are a few photographs from the day, the full wedding will be ready and time soon.

Sophie & Dan – Winter Wedding – The Norfolk Arms Hotel – Arundel

I had a great day yesterday shooting the wedding of Sophie and Dan at the Norfolk Arms Hotel in Arundel. The weather, all be it freezing was awesome with loads of sunshine!! After the ceremony we headed into the town in Sophie’s Dad’s black cab for some ‘must have’ portraits. As usual for my Arundel weddings we headed down to the old ruins by the river and the castle entrance for some great backgrounds. We then headed back to the Norfolk Arms for a couple of groups and finishing off with a ‘fly on the wall’ coverage up to the wedding breakfast. Here are a few shots from the day.

Christmas Wedding St Mary’s Horsham & Hickstead Hotel

A photo from the wedding of Emma & Steve back in December at St Mary’s Church in Horsham. Once again, thankfully we had just enough light to get the all important shots at the church. After using my trusty stepladder to gain height for the main group, I set about a few select smaller groups before cracking on with their portraits. Although the lights hadn’t come on yet, I added one in Photoshop just for added effect as show here. We then headed for the reception which was held at the Hickstead Hotel, an ideal venue with plenty of room and nice ceilings to bounce light from! After their wedding breakfast we were treated to a professional firework display, which made for another great photo opportunity too.
